Go live
Go live
Going live changes credentials and configuration, not code. The API, the base URL, and the events are the same in both environments.

Before you start#
Complete the integration checklist in the sandbox. Then make the changes below.
1. Complete onboarding#
Complete the onboarding steps in the dashboard for your live account:
- The business profile.
- The legal entity.
- The registered address and the operating address.
- The agreements.
- The jurisdiction.
- The base currency.
2. Copy products and prices to live#
Products and prices of the sandbox do not exist in live. Use the copy to live function in the dashboard. It copies products and prices only, and it creates new IDs in live.
Customers, transactions, payments, and webhook endpoints are not copied. Each environment keeps its own.
3. Use live API keys#
Live keys start with mx_live_. The base URL stays https://api.merxian.com; the key selects live.
- Store live keys apart from sandbox keys, in a secret store.
- Give each live key only the scopes that it needs. See Authentication.
- Do not use a live key on a developer machine or in a test system.
4. Configure a live webhook endpoint#
Add a webhook endpoint in the live environment. A sandbox endpoint does not receive live events.
- The URL must use
httpsand a public host name. Live deliveries tohttp, localhost, or private network addresses fail. - The live endpoint has its own signing secret. Store it apart from the sandbox secret.
- Subscribe to the same events as in the sandbox.

Recommended production checks#
After the switch, make one small live sale and refund it:
- Create a checkout session with a live key and a live price ID.
- Pay on the hosted page with a real payment method.
- Check that your endpoint received and verified
payment.succeeded, and that your system fulfilled once. - Refund the payment and check that you received
refund.succeeded.
Then go through the production checklist.
